Biography – Wendy Seagren

In college I minored in interior design and later completed all of the photography, photoshop and journalism classes offered in the local college. Because I love the beauty of nature and enjoy the outdoors my emphasis has been to photograph landscapes, especially our National Parks.

Publications include the L.A. Times Travel Section. My first book, entitled, Portraits of Light, A Photographic Journey Through the Seasons of Light in Yosemite, has recently been published by Blurb.  It is sold through Amazon.

I am a member of Oregon Professional Photographers Association.  I currently serve on the Executive Board as secretary.  I am also a member of our National Group, Professional Photographers of America.  At our once yearly International Photographic Competition over the last 3 years, I have received 12 coveted merit awards for my landscape and fine art photography.  At the 2016 International Photographic Competition my photo entitled “Crystal Kaleidoscope was selected for the prestigious Loan Collection.  My photos over the last three years have been published in our General Collection Book by Marathon Press. I am happy to say that nine of my award winning photos were taken in Yosemite. My Yosemite photos have also received finalist status in national photo competitions.

Memberships include the Photographic Society at the Japanese Garden, Portland, Oregon. Oregon Professional Photographer’s Association (OPPA), Professional Photographer’s of America (PPA) and NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). My workflow is through Adobe’s Creative Cloud which includes Lightroom and Photoshop.  My work strives to tell a story that is breathtaking and memorable.

Every year I am more excited than the year before about photographing the National Parks, perhaps because now I look at it through a special lens – my heart. It is like visiting an old friend that you have not seen for awhile.
