Wendy Seagren Earns Master’s Degree In Photography-PPA 2016

(Camas, Wa.) – Wendy M. Seagren of thruthelensephotography in Camas, Wa. earns Master’s Degree In Photography-PPA 2016.  To obtain this degree she has earned 12 Merited Print Awards from PPA over the last 3 years.

She has also completed 13 Workshops accredited by PPA.  This year, her photo entitled Crystal Kaleidoscope went to the esteemed Loan Collection. Life Without Water and Rainbow Bridge merited and were chosen for the Collection Book.  The degree will be awarded at Imaging USA, Jan. 10, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.

The following Awards are presented by PPA and represent different areas of expertise:
Photographic Craftsman (Cr.Photog.)  Awarded for service as an orator, author or mentor. This degree shows that you have gone beyond the creation of images and dedicated your time to move the industry forward and encourage education.

Master of Photography (M.Photog.)  Awarded for superior photographic skills—demonstrated through the Photographic Open category of PPA International Photographic Competition, advanced education and service to the industry.
Master Artist (M.Artist) (formerly known as the Master of Electronic Imaging Degree)  Awarded for superior photographic skills—demonstrated through the Artist Exhibition category of the PPA International Photographic Competition (with images evaluated for computer-applied techniques and proficiency), advanced education and service to the industry.

A panel of 43 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,200 total submitted entries in 2016.  The competition was held at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, just over 2,100 images were selected for the General Collection and 1,085 (roughly 21 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book. Over 200 selected General Collection images will be published in the “Showcase” book by Marathon Press.
